If I am not in the office working on deals for our customers, I am getting one of my three boys from one sporting event to another. The average driver travels around 15,000 miles a year. I’m convinced if you have kids with extra-curricular activities that 15,000 miles per year can be doubled. Every week I check the tires on our family vehicle for anything that may affect our safety when traveling. In modern day vehicles there are safety features everywhere. We have tire pressure sensors that let us know when the air pressure is low but there is no technology that tells us when our tires are no longer safe to drive because of the tread depth. The best way to check tread depth is with the same tire gauge our fathers have used for years.
